Date Night Tips
64
The dating scene can sure be tough. Trust me I know, I've been there. Preparing for a date can be the most stressful activity too. You're nervous because you don't know if he will like you, if you're going to have fun, what you're going to do, what he's going to wear, what you're going to wear, how you should do your hair, are you going to kiss, how you should do your makeup, are you putting on too much makeup, or not enough makeup???! And the date hasn't even started yet!!!
What To Wear
First you need to relax and realize he's just a person like you and is probably nervous too. The guy usually has the date already planned, so that will be taken care of. Try to figure out what you two will be doing so you can dress appropriately.
- If you are going to dinner at a casual restuarant and a movie, I suggest you wear jeans, a cute top, and heels.
- If the restaurant is fancy, then wear a skirt, top, and heels. If you are going to a club wear a cute dress and heels.
- If you are going to a football or baseball game, go with jeans, a t-shirt or jersey, and maybe a baseball cap.
The key to dressing well on your first date is to look cute and a little sexy. You don't want to look to sexy though because you might just be looked at negatively. He might get the wrong idea about you...and nobody wants that. So the key to clothing while dating is to be classy.
How To Do Your Makeup
You don't have to start from scratch...add onto your daytime look to save a little time.
- Prepare your look by touching up any blemishes or red areas on your face with concealer. Apply a light powder on top of that to set in the concealer, focusing on your t-zone.
- Apply bronze eye shadow to the lid and crease of your eye.
- Apply black eyeliner to your upper and lower lash lines.
- Smudge the outside corners of your eye to get an evening smokey look.
- Add a light cream or taupe color eyeshadow to the tear duct (inner corner of eye). This will highlight and brighten your eye.
- Apply the taupe color around the outside of your eye/upper cheekbone to bring more attention to your eyes.
- Run a couple coats of black mascara through your upper and lower lashes.
- Apply a bronze blush to the apples of your cheeks.
- Apply a nude lipgloss to your lips.
Extra Tips
- Wear some accessories. These can make any look go from boring to super cute. I like to add gold or silver bangles to all my outfits. Also, big earrings can make your look amazing as well. Or add a headband to your outfit. These small things make your outfit much more interesting and unique.
- Shower right before a date. This way you smell good and look fresh.
- Wear perfume. A couple sprays is enough. You don't want to over due it. That could make things worse. But a couple sprays of a good smelling scent will make you more attractive. My personal favorite is Britney Spears Fantasy.
- Be yourself. You want somebody to like you for you. Don't try to "be cool" or somebody you're not...they will find out the real you sooner or later anyway.
- Smile and have fun!

Visually these are great tips, but most importantly you need to relax. Don't take it too seriously and things will be fine.

Dating can be quite stressful if you let it. I'm truly glad that those days are way in the past for me. Elaina, I would definitely say that your tips are excellent and, without a doubt, the best is "be yourself."
Voted up and useful.
